WHAT IS THE SUMMER LIBRARY PROGRAM CHALLENGE? The goal of the summer reading program is to encourage kids to check out and read books from the library this summer! We also provide free, fun, and educational programs.
Starting on June 6th, you can register for the Summer Library Program
Sign up at the front desk or online. If you’re signing up at the front desk, you can pick up a registration packet that will include a paper copy of the Library Challenge to keep track of your reading points/hours and programs attended. If you register online, make sure you stop in to get your registration packet.
The Summer Library Program runs from June 6th through July 15. You can register any time throughout the program.
HOW IT WORKS The program lasts six weeks (June 6th – July 17th). Read books, attend programs & do special activities to earn prizes. Each child will receive a Challenge Log to record the books, programs & activities they do. They can begin as soon as they are signed up for the program.
Points will be earned for MINUTES READ, PROGRAMS ATTENDED & SPECIAL ACTIVITIES: 30 MINUTES = 1 point 1 PROGRAM ATTENDED= 5 points 1 SPECIAL ACTIVITY= 2 points
Points can be used to “buy” prizes at the library store. Prize store will be open on Wednesdays & Thursdays during the Summer Library Program. Your completed Challenge Log is required to redeem prizes at the store. Parents, please help younger children keep an accurate log.
